1981:Duran Duran and Kim Wilde release their debut albums; An American Werewolf in London, Chariots of Fire and Condorman were released in cinemas; The United Kingdom win the Eurovision Song Contest with Making Your Mind Up by Bucks Fizz; Tottenham Hotspur beat Manchester City after a replay in the 100th FA Cup final; The Brixton riots took place

In 1981 Pickwick International UK released a Doctor Who talking book read by the recently departed fourth Doctor himself, Tom Baker. I got a copy of this many years ago, and I thought that it was pretty good considering it was an abridged version of the book, but to be honest the gist of the story was more than given by this particular adaptation, and Tom Baker gave an excellent reading ,  so I don’t think that it would necessarily have been better if it had of been unabridged, and as it was such an unusual item when it was originally released you would have more than happy to have this, I know that I was!
