1988: Beetlejuice, Buster, Coming to America, Die Hard, A Fish Called Wanda, The Lair of the White Worm, The Last Temptation of Christ were released in cinemas;Everything but the Girl release Idlewild, Morrisey released Viva Hate, Bros release Push; Switzerland win The Eurovision Song Contest with Ne partez pas san moi sung by Celine Dion; Wimbledon beat Liverpool 1-0 to lift the FA Cup final – I was there and Doctor Who celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary.

Released in the same year “Doctorin’ the Tardis” was a mash-up record of the Doctor Who theme music, Blockbuster by The Sweet and Gary Glitter’s “Rock and Roll (Part Two)” with the odd lyric here and there.

It is quite embarassing and nauseating but the record hit the top of the single charts in the UK for one week and sold more than one million copies at the time.

It is possibly best forgotten, as was the video, but if you can bear it see below.
