50 Who : 1994

Ireland won the Eurovision Song Contest for the third consecutive year with Rock ‘n’ Roll Kids by Paul Harrington & Charlie McGettigan; Manchester United beat Chelsea 4-0 to lift the FA Cup; Kristin Hersh released Hips and Makers, Tori Amos released Under the Pink, Elvis Costello release Brutal Youth, Morrisey released Vauxhall and I, Pink Floyd released The Division Bell, Terrorvision released How to Make Friends and Influence People, Blur released Parklife,  Oasis released Definitely Maybe; Ace Ventura : Pet Detective, The Adventures of Pricilla, Queen of the Desert, Backbeat, Clerks, Forrest Gump, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Heavenly Creatures, The Mask were released in cinemas.

In 1994 to accompany the New Adventures Virgin Publishing began the Missing Adventure range which would attempt to fit (or rather shoehorn as quite often the case) stories between the televised stories.

There were 33 novels published between 1994 and 1997 with Paul Cornell’s Goth Opera featuring the fifth Doctor, Tegan and Nyssa being the very first, and also one of the better, books in the entire range.
