This week I am writing about why I don’t feel bad about counting audio books as books that I have read on my list of books read for Goodreads.
The way I see it, is that being read to is just the same as reading yourself, except that it can take a little bit longer, so I refuse to feel guilty when I listen to the audio version of a book rather than actually reading it myself and then adding it to my books read list.
Should I feel bad about this?
No, I do the same.
Glad I am not the only one!
It’s the same in my book, too. You still need to listen and pay attention to understand what’s going on. Actually, I read aloud a lot of the time. I comprehend better when I do it.

I don’t listen to audio books (mainly because I don’t trust the narrators but that is my issue) but as I expect it takes longer to listen than read then there is no need to feel guilty.
Here is my MM

Enjoying a book is enjoying a book–your brain still has to comprehend the language and the story. I say–listen away! 🙂
I have actually never tried an audio book… I don’t understand the concept of it…

Don’t think you should feel bad – I count audiobooks too and don’t feel bad about it. Here’s my musing: http://daystarz.wordpress.com/2013/11/05/musing-mondays-14/
