World Cup 2014 Day Seven

Plucky Australia lost to the Netherlands in a thrilling match even after going ahead at one point. Robben put the netherlands ahead and Tim Cahill scored a fantastic volley to equalise before Jedinak put them in the lead with a penalty. Not long after that Van Persie scored to level it again and the Dutch added a third ten minutes later with Australia were unable to come back from.

Spain had to at least draw with Chile to stay in the World Cup but they couldn’t even manage that and were beaten 2-0 by a far superior Chile side who simply wanted it more than the Spanish did and beat them rather easily. Spain were never in it and didn’t deserve to progress any further in this competition.

Croatia thrashed Cameroon 4-0 in the final game of the day which got a bit stormy and saw Alex Song see red, as did the rest of the Cameroon team.
