In the final two first round of group games Japan took on Columbia and Poland took on Senegal.

It didn’t start well for Columbia with a player sent off after just under three minutes for handling a shot in the box. This saw Japan’s Shinji Kagawa’s opening the scoring for Japan moments later.

Japan should have put the game to bed, but with shots squandered Columbia were able to equalise 5 minutes before half time and the game was level once again.

Despite Columbia bringing on their star player James Rodriguez it was Japan who took their chance and led the game 2-1, which was how the game ended.

Poland went in after the break 1-0 down after a massive deflection saw Senegal take the lead. Poland didn’t manage to create that much throughout the game.

A miss hit backpass saw Sengal go 2-0 up which was less unlucky than the first goal but this was more their fault.

Poland managed to get a goal just before the end of the game but it was to little to late for Poland leaving them and Columbia with 0 points a piece.
