Between 3pm and 4pm Joan Gilbert presented About Home practical help for the housewife. Today saw a demonstration on the traditional Scottish way of making scones; a demonstration on how to iron a man’s shirt professionally; a talk about dry rot and and a piece entitled Handywoman.

Between 5pm and 6pm was Children’s television which this day included a newsreel and a play about the brothers Grimm.

Between 7.30pm and 9pm was the second production of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew with Margaret Johnson and Stanley Baker.

At 9pm was entertainment from Manchester with Burl Ives.

At 9.20 was Current Releases a programme about, you’ve guess it, the current cinema releases.

At 10.05 was a repeat of the previous days newsreel followed by the
