Predictably Italy beat Wales but only by one goal to nill despite having the majority of the ball and having an extra man (after Ampadu got himself sent off). They did make a lot of changes from the team that cruised through the first team games but Wales did ride their luck a bit.

Switzerland also beat Turkey by 3 goals to 1 but managed to finish third in the group due to Wales conceding less goals than them, so from a Wales perspective it was better than Italy were not firing on all cylinders.

Belgium who had already qualified for the knock out stages beat Finland 2-0 and Denmark thrashed Russia 4-1 and managing to qualify for the knock out stage with just one win out of three.

The Netherland were also already in the knockout stage but they beat a plucky North Macedonian side 3-0 and poor old North Macedonia had two goals chalked offside, it wouldn’t have mad any difference as they ended up losing all three games, but it would have been nice for them.

Austria managed to get the better of Ukraine by a single goal which saw the Austrians through the to knockout stages.

England were already through but needed to win to get top of the group. Scotland needed to win to stand any chance of going through as one of the best third placed teams. England, who were not at their best, scored in the first half and held out until the end with the slim lead whereas Scotland were soundly beaten by Croatia 1-3.
